One team.
The whole product.

Hardware projects die in the handoffs between industrial design, electronics, firmware, and the factory. Groundplane is a small senior team that does all of it. We prototype, validate on real hardware, manage sourcing and manufacturing, and ship the connected web layer.

About Groundplane

Hardware doesn't fail in the design. It fails in the handoffs.

Groundplane is a two-person studio that owns those seams. Founder Andrew Douglass was an integration engineering manager at SpaceX: Falcon stage avionics test, pad electrical, Starlink and GEO payload integration, fairing refurbishment. Integration is the work of making the whole vehicle ship, not any one piece of it.

For specialty work in industrial design, firmware, web, and mobile, we bring in senior people we've shipped with before. Every project has a senior owner on every discipline. No juniors running unsupervised. No handoffs that disappear into someone else's queue.

At the bench, building hardware.
